Top VCs attend ShopTalk as startups drive generative AI innovation.
About 70% of the companies focused on data and AI at ShopTalk were startups, so it’s no surprise that many top VC firms attend the event as well. I participated in a roundtable with Martin Casado from a16z at the conference. The fact that established VCs are present while most generative AI innovation comes from startups rather than established players, with only one out of the seven merged-solution vendors being an established company, shows where the smart money is watching this nascent space develop.
