Why does Europe struggle with AI adoption compared to the United States?

Underinvestment in training and punishing failure hold Europe back from AI.

Europe is not behind because it lacks brains. It is behind because it underinvests in training and adoption. In San Francisco, self-driving cars are a tourist attraction. In Europe, they’re theoretical. Beyond training gaps, Europe doesn’t lack risk-takers but penalizes them. In the U.S., failure is a badge of honor. In Europe, it’s a career ender. We need policies like bankruptcy reform that give entrepreneurs a second chance. Europe has missed past digital revolutions including internet, cloud, mobile and social. Without ending the stigma of failure and accelerating adoption, infrastructure investment alone won’t close the gap.
