Using the EU to study trust’s role in vaccination.

We looked towards the EU because the distribution of vaccines to Member States happened simultaneously and under the same conditions. But not all member states show the same trust, allowing us to isolate trust as a variable. We used the European Social Survey, a bi-annually collected survey of thousands of EU citizens from 29 countries, to measure trust levels. We then correlated that data with vaccination data from the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control.
