Survey data reveals a consistent gap between concern and usage

People express concern about AI in surveys. They worry about job displacement, privacy, hallucinations, and dependency. And then they use it anyway. This pattern shows up consistently in the data. The gap between what people say they’re worried about and how they actually behave is not hypocrisy. It’s simply how humans work. We routinely accept risks when the benefit feels immediate and the risk feels diffuse or abstract.
