Even advanced AI copilots can fail without proper user training.
Mark Benioff from Salesforce joked that Microsoft’s copilots have been hit and miss, comparing them to Clippy, the failed desktop assistant. The challenge is it’s not easy for enterprises to make AI useful. In my course, I was the first to completely integrate OpenAI and replace myself as a teacher, giving students AI tools to handle complicated coding without needing to code. What I saw is that students initially struggled with this new colleague. Over time, once we trained them on how to use it, they learned. So the hit and miss nature comes from the difficulty of integrating AI into existing workflows and user expectations.
