Historical injustices create a healthcare trust gap for minorities.

These differences might be due to access or availability, but they might also be due to missing trust. Minorities in the US have experienced an unfair healthcare system: from the unethical Tuskegee Syphilis Study to racial bias in pain assessment to the ingrained racial skew in AI models. The Kaiser Family Foundation reported stark differences among different states and different ethnicities that could reflect this trust gap.
