Quizzes revealed where students struggled before class even started.
I asked students to do a quiz before coming to class to find out which areas they didn’t understand. For example, a FiveThirtyEight video on k-means clustering Margaritas was fun, but the quiz revealed it failed to explain where the ‘k’ in k-means came from. This feedback let me spend more time on that point in class than I would have usually done. Content curation became the critical path, and quizzes helped me identify gaps.
