LIME removes pixels to reveal what triggers AI decisions.

LIME is a tool designed to help with explainability in AI systems, particularly for complex models like deep learning that create their own variables which might not make immediate sense for humans. LIME works by creating many different versions of the same image through removing pixels. This process helps researchers and users understand what specifically triggered a given AI response. It addresses the challenge that while decision trees, Bayesian classifiers, and linear models are easy to interpret, deep learning models cannot be explained so easily.
